none of what you've ever wanted to know about the democratic national convention and a whole lot more
it's been dncrazy at work this week. gotta love political conventions when you work at 24-hour news station. it gives you plenty to report about.

for instance, janet reno not dancing. the fine folks at cnn newsource sent down some vid of happy dems attempting to clap to the rhythm and bop around the fleet center. the video itself was pretty amusing, but add the fact that there was a shot of janet reno not dancing and looking incredibly uncomfortable, and you've got great kicker material. so you pull out a "janet reno's dance party" reference, let the video sell the story and hope your anchor doesn't botch things up. then, you get some nasty viewer e-mails because janet reno has parkinson's (a fact that slipped your mind) and not everyone thinks it's nice to make fun of people with parkinson's. ah well, you're not doing your job right unless you piss someone off.

also, who knew the o.c.'s benjamin mckenzie was speaking at the convention? certainly not i. but that's exactly who was at the podium when we dipped in for a live look at the top of my show today. sigh, i miss the o.c. ah well, at least now i can take comfort in knowing that ryan really went to boston at the end of the season finale and not chino.
