It's a sad day when not even Cross-Cultural Journalism gets you pumped.

Typos be damed

Perhaps corporate America isn't so bad after all...Here's an interesting article you might want to read if you hate all things Starbucks.

Musings from the Broadcast Labs

1) If I see another story about flu shots on KOMU, I'm shooting my roommate's TV. Sorry, Rob.

2) To the kid who thinks he's too good for Broadcast 1 because he interned at WGN this summer. My good sir, I've seen WGN. You are not "all that."

Evangelizing isn't profitable enough. I'm going to pimp the Cherry Street Artisan instead.

---

Why do I keep eating cookies that make my mouth burn? So that I don't have to write a J302 assignment.

My new mission in life: to evangelize about the Cherry Street Artisan. It's a fantastic little place in downtown Columbia. I suggest you check it out if you're looking for a cup of coffee, some homemade biscotti or a delcious chicken salad sandwich. Sometimes, they have babies, too...but not to eat...just to look at.

If you like precocious, angst-ridden teenagers blended with a healthy does of hokey, tear-jerking wholesomeness, try Everwood. It's Scott6103: The Blog's Endorsement of the Week.

I'm not selling a testicle. I don't care how much you pay me.

What's that? You say you want blog entries that aren't related to TV news in Kansas City? Too bad. Start your own damn blog. Here's another link just to spite you.

Anchor Watch 2002

We have new information to report in our continuing coverage of the anchor shake-up at NBC41. Elizabeth Alex has a new co-anchor. I hope she likes him.

I just wrote a blog entry with plenty of witticisms, links and concert critques for the whole family to enjoy. Then, Blogger screwed up, and it was lost. Hey, Blogger, wanna fight?

)

Sorry, that was missing from this post a few days ago.

Congratulations to KSHB on its seven Emmy nominations. Take that FOX4 and KC "Ohhhh we have a new set and new graphics...we're soooo special" TV 5. Still, the evil dynasty reigns supreme with 20 nods.

For those of you who are frequent visitors to Scott6103: The Blog, you may have wondered why that last post didn't have the heading "News for News Dorks." Well, research has shown that visitors who aren't interested in news about TV news click away when they see that heading. Hence, the consultants suggested we get rid of it. The consultants also suggested I cut my hair. (That's a little broadcast humor for ya.)

Talk About Silly

This is no American Idol.

Famous people I've heard or will hear speak today:

Gerald Boyd, Managing Editor of the NY Times
John Walsh, Executive Editor at ESPN
Barbara Cochran, RTNDA (Radio and Television News Directors Assoc.)
Bob Simon, CBS News
Adrienne Stein, KOMU anchor

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

So...I've been up since 3:30 this a.m....and I consumed a healthy dose of caffeine from the friendly neighborhood coffee shop....and all I've eaten today are some miniature donuts. It's taken 4 years, but I'm finally a real live college student.

(If you read this post a few seconds ago, the word "coffee" lacked it's second "e" and I misspelled "caffeine"...or I'm misspelling it now...I apologize...despite my claim during this blog's early days that I would not apologize for grammatical errors.

The last paragrpah disproves anyone who disputes that I suffer from any one of the following:

Chronic Anxiety Disorder
OCD

Severe Gas

People I Know Who Possibly Made Me Sick Even Though It's Probably Just Allergies

•Paul Underwood
•Andrea Adams
•Rob Coons
•Chrissy Mayer

Scott6103: The Blog is proud to introduce a new segment called "News for News Dorks."

This occasional feature is sure to be enjoyed by Scott Collins and Johnathan Woodward and probably nobody else.

The Kansas City CBS affiliate has new graphics. I think they're ugly and like the old ones better. However, their new set looks sharp.

Funny how the KC Star's TV critic can post gobs of information regarding this makeover in his website, yet I have not seen any news about the new news director at Channel 41 .

This concludes "News for News Dorks."

So...about 30 minutes ago, I walked by the Quad, and it looked like somebody had taken the viewbook, opened it up and dumped it out on the Quad. There were students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds playing frisbee with one another. No shittin'.

I know it's been awhile since I've posted (the last post doesn't count for much)...keep watching this space for a massive attempt at catching up...or more apologies....

Some people wait a lifetime...for a moment like this!
